Thief: Sand Land: The Series character explained

Thief is a major supporting character in the action-adventure series, Sand Land: The Series, currently streaming on Disney+. Chō voices the character in the anime.

An old Sheriff named Rao joins Demon Prince Beelzebub and one of his demon compatriots named Thief, to go on a journey to find water for their people that has been robbed from them by the greedy king of Sand Land.

Thief is an old demon and of a similar height to Beelzebub. Whereas Beelzebub says he’s around 2500 years old, Thief has been shown to claim he’s older than him.

Build and strengths

It shows too, as he often makes the sounds of unease and discomfort at some movements, typical of an aged person. However, despite his age, he’s a rather sprite spirit ball of a demon.

He can sprint at inhumane speed which he employs to infiltrate nearby towns and settlements and steal all that he needs to steal. He’s quite a master when it comes to thievery, hence his name.

His go-to disguise is that of Santa Claus, which fits him perfectly. Additionally, he’s also much more durable than an average human, which comes as part of being a demon.

Talents & relationships

However, Thief’s real talents like in the jobs that entail dexterity. He’s really savvy with tech and machines and learns to drive and maneuver machines really quickly.

He shares a really adorable relationship with Beelzebub. He respects him which is obvious since Beelzebub is the prince and the son of Lucifer.

Apart from reverence, love, and pride, Thief also feels a brotherly bond with Beelzebub. They’re often scuffling with each other and fighting for turns at the wheel of the car or the tank.

They also play and have a laugh like a couple of buddies. Despite his age, Thief has a penchant for indulging in the silly, innocent exploits of the Fiend Prince.
