Russell Wolff: American Rust: Broken Justice character explained

In American Rust: Broken Justice, Russell Wolff is a Landwill employee whom Isaac dates for a while. Christopher Denham plays Russell.

Russell Wolff and Isaac meet at a restaurant once the latter leaves his disastrous date behind. The two eye each other first and make out in the washroom.

The next day, Isaac finds out that Russell, much like him, works as a construction worker for Landwill Energy.

Russell stays cold toward Isaac. He doesn’t want this relationship, but he struggles to control his urges. The two eventually start dating and get to know each other.

Russell also works with Grace and hires her to represent Landwill Energy. Both Grace and Isaac slowly discover the secrets that Russell has, but one of them is far more dangerous.

Russell’s secrets

When their relationship is flourishing, Russell shares with Isaac how his father would have never accepted them, which is why he is not comfortable being seen in public with Isaac.

Isaac is cool with keeping their relationship low. Their relationship develops to the point that Isaac starts taking it seriously. It all falls apart the moment Isaac learns that Russell is married and has a wife.

Nate’s return ruins Russell’s chances of fixing things with Isaac. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Grace learns that Russell is hiding something when she comes to know that nobody at Landwill knows her and that Russell is using a different name at a hotel.

Russell is caught trespassing in Lee’s room

However, the big secret that Russell is hiding from everyone is that he is Landwill Energy’s fixer, the person responsible for Liam McKenna and DA Sue Herlitz’s deaths.

Russell’s death

Russell next targets Lee, who had been investigating Landwill Energy throughout the second season.

Amidst all of this, Russell kills Nate, who had caught Russell trespassing in Lee’s room. Before Russell can kill Lee, Del assigns Steve to go to Lee’s house.

Steve and his team are a bit late, as Russell successfully kills Lee. When Steve arrives, he is able to take down Russell, who meets his end then and there.

Isaac, on the other hand, learns that he got into a relationship with the wrong man when he notices that Russell’s handwriting matches that of the letter left by Nate before leaving, suggesting that Russell messed with Nate.
