Min Kyung-Min meets his end in one of the latest episodes of Doctor Slump, as his past and motivations for his actions are revealed.
Min Kyung-Min fooled Jeong-Woo into believing he had been his well-wisher and great friend for years while helping cause the accident that cost Jeong-Woo his career, as well as trying to hurt him on several other occasions.
The tutor Min Kyung-Min
Kyung-Min was hired as Jeong-Woo’s tutor when he was in his high school. His strict mother hired Kyung-Min on a trusted one’s recommendation.
She made it clear to Kyung-Min that he has to get Jeong-Woo into the HNU med school, for which she pays him double his fees but allows no leniency or extracurricular activities at all.
Kyung-Min takes pity on Jeong-Woo for having to academically excel so much because of his over-achieving parents’ expectations.
But he soon sees that Jeong-Woo is an unexpectedly kind guy, to a fault even. He begins tutoring him and helps him significantly with his calculus.
The tragedy
One day, Min Kyung-Min gets a call from the bar telling him that his father has drunk a lot, so he needs two hours to go pick him up.
However, Jeong-Woo’s mother doesn’t allow him, citing her son’s fast-approaching exams take priority over anything.
He stays at their house while his father drunkenly overdosed on sleeping pills, crashes his car, and dies.
Resentment, impulsive and deliberate
One day Min Kyung-Min spikes Jeong-Woo’s drink with the powdered Ambien he takes, in an impulsive action.
Later, he aids and abets in the accident that costs Jeong-Woo his career.
Ever since his father’s death, he claimed he was torn between feeling affection and hate towards Jeong-Woo.
He claimed he felt pathetic by Jeong-Woo’s kindness.
Moments before death
After a car accident, he is on his last breath when he calls Jeong-Woo and apologizes to him. He tells him that at first, he didn’t know it was his clinic.
He also told him that he tried to dissuade his associates from manufacturing the accident, but by that time he was already too far and couldn’t stop.
Min Kyung-Min tells Jeong-Woo that he should forgive him and move on, shortly before dying, leaving Jeong-Woo to wrestle with his inner turmoil.
