Liv: Rabbit Hole character explained

In Rabbit Hole, Liv is assumed to be Weir’s ex-wife for the entire show until it is revealed that she has been hiding how she is associated with Weir all along. Alexandra Castillo plays Liv.

Liv first appears in the premiere episode of Rabbit Hole, when Weir visits Liv’s sons’ live performance at a talent show. He shows up like a good father and claps loudly for her son, Sam, once the performance is over.

After the performance, the two pretend to be co-parenting Sam. Almost everyone Weir knows assumes that Liv is Weir’s ex-wife. This leads Madi to approach Liv once during the show to track Weir down when he is on the run.

Even Crowley, in the finale, to have leverage over Weir, kidnaps Liv and Weir’s father, Ben. Crowley’s attempt fails as it is revealed that Liv isn’t Weir’s ex-wife.

Who exactly is Liv?

In the finale, during a heart-to-heart conversation with Hailey, Weir reveals what went down with his wife. Apparently, one of his jobs went sideways. Weir made a mistake, and his wife was the one who got hurt and caught in the middle.

Ben and Liv held captive by Crowley and his gang

Later, when Crowley confronts Weir and threatens to kill Liv and Ben, Weir discloses why his wife left him in the first place. She was kidnapped by one of his competitors. They threatened to kill her if Weir didn’t do everything they asked.

Weir’s competitors even sent him a finger of his wife to prove their point. Liv was the one who came to Weir’s aid and rescued his wife. So it turns out that Liv is an assassin working for Weir.

Is Sam Weir’s son?

The moment Crowley learns of this, Liv breaks free and takes out each and every member of Crowley’s gang. Ben is then handed the gun to decide if he is going to let a sick Crowley die slowly or kill him right away.

Ben opts to kill Crowley. After finishing the job, Ben wonders if Sam really is his grandson. Liv then tells him that Sam is only hers, and he has been with his grandparents since this Crowley mess heated up.
