Guy Russo’s death in Reacher season 2 explained

Guy Russo is an NYPD detective investigating the death of Calvin Franz in Reacher season 2. The character is played by Domenick Lombardozzi.

Gaitano ‘Guy’ Russo is the lead detective in the murder of Calvin Franz, and Reacher knocks him out before they realize he’s a cop.

Russo and Reacher constantly butt heads as the investigation progresses even though they are both on the same side.

Reacher accuses Russo of being a rat but Russo takes offense and promises to get even for the unprovoked beating Reacher gave him during their first encounter.

During Calvin Franz’s funeral, Reacher and Russo get into yet another argument, but when the hitmen fire into the party, Russo goes to protect Franz’s wife and son.

Reacher is convinced of Russo’s integrity but tells him that there is a rat in his precinct. Russo has an idea of who it might be and pays a visit to his boss.

A good man through and through

Russo’s suspicions are confirmed when his boss tells him that Langston approached him with a bag of cash for his cooperation.

Russo is disgusted by his boss’s decision and leaves. Reacher and his team find Marlo and her daughter and attempt to lure Langston using Marlo as bait.

They ask Russo to take care of Marlo’s daughter, and he tells them that he’s heading somewhere safe so he can take her with him.

However, some men are waiting for Russo and they chase after him. He contacts Reacher, who sends Neagley and the rest to help.

Russo is cornered and he does his best to hold off the attackers, but in the end, he sacrifices his life so that Marlo’s daughter can get away.

Neagley gets there just in time to hold Russo’s hand as he breathes his last.
