In the show, Gray Holland is struggling to handle his immense success and how everyone is obsessed with him and is running behind him.
Now that Gray is a star, everyone wants something from him. His own parents sued him for intellectual property rights because they say Gray was their idea.
Gray’s therapist recorded his sessions and then sold them on Audible. The star life has not really treated Gray right.
Finding a normal friend
Gray disguises himself and visits restaurants, intending to stay low and enjoy his space.
Gray finds a normal friend in Gloria, who doesn’t recognize Gray when they cross paths at a restaurant.
For the first time, Gray enjoys talking to someone who treats him like every other human being.
Throughout the third season, Gray and Gloria keep crossing paths with each other. They become road buddies as they find each other on the same path, from one restaurant to the next.
Gloria keeps thinking that Gray, who is using the name Mad Dog, is a trucker until her friends point out that the person she is friends with is Gray Holland, the biggest pop star in the world.
A surprise collaboration
Girls5eva’s show at the Radio City Music Hall is approaching, and they need heat on them. Dawn thinks Gray can give them that heat if they sing a song with him.
Although they lose Gray because of fans storming to meet him, Gray himself comes to meet them because he feels normal with them.
Gray asks if he can sing with them for the night, and Girls5eva’s dream comes true, while the experience takes Gray back to his struggling days, playing in dodgy clubs and jamming all night.
However, Gray’s presence attracts his fans, forcing Gray and Girls5eva to escape the place. Girls5eva are captured on camera with Gray.
Gray is left heartbroken
Back in their suite, Girls5eva plan to invite Gray to their Radio City show. Gray keeps enjoying his time with the group and even makes music with them on the spot.
When Girls5eva keep insisting that he attend their show, he realizes that they are no different than others.
Gloria understands where his friend comes from. She decides to make Gray’s wish come true.
Gray’s fake death and his last save
Gloria stages Gray’s fake death, which helps him disappear. Gray changes his look and relocates to Canada, where he performs at local shows.
Gray’s death puts Girls5eva in a bad light, as they are blamed, especially Dawn. Her picture with Gray goes viral.
The rumors circulate that Dawn is responsible for Gray’s breakup with Sadie James, another star, and Dawn’s twisted games caused Gray’s crash while the star was flying solo.
Though Gray’s fake death ruins Girls5eva’s chances of having a successful show at Radio City Hall, a song Gray recorded with them saves them.
A song Gray recorded with Girls5eva’s friend, Percy, has Percy’s chewing sound in it. It allows Summer and Percy to get money for it and use it to market their show and sell tickets.
