Farid: Deliver Me character explained

Farid is a police officer who is close to Dogge and Billy and will do anything to get them justice. Ardalan Esmaili plays the character.

When Farid arrives at the scene and realizes that Billy is the one who got shot, he immediately goes to Dogge’s house to find out what happened.

He cares deeply for both boys and tries to help them get away from Mehdi’s influence on different occasions.

Farid partly blames himself for Billy’s death and also puts a lot of pressure on himself for not taking Mehdi down earlier.

As an immigrant officer, he takes on added responsibility to provide fair representation for an underserved community.

Farid approaches the case with a lot of emotion and that affects his decision-making later on.

Bogged down by the law

When Billy wants to leave Mehdi’s network, Farid is the resource officer who advises him on what to do.

However, he isn’t able to stop Mehdi from seeking Billy out or extorting his family. Medhi’s crew harassed Sudden and stole from his supermarket often.

The police didn’t follow up on his complaints and when Farid went to check up on him, Sudden blamed him for not doing enough.

Leila also tells Farid that he couldn’t protect Billy, so there is no way he could protect the rest of her family.

Still, Farid had some level of trust with Dogge, Leila, and her family because he was able to talk to them and get information out of them when required.

When Dogge ends up at the hospital, Farid stays with him all night. And when he dies, Farid goes to Mehdi’s apartment and threatens him before calming down.

Farid: Deliver Me character explained 1
Farid looks to Lana for justification for what he did

After Tusse agrees to testify, Farid learns that the boy didn’t see Mehdi hand the gun to Dogge.

So they came up with a story to connect the two and didn’t tell the prosecutor about it. Farid wanted to make sure Mehdi would go to jail and more young kids didn’t suffer.

Lana tells him that she won’t give him the justification he needs to soothe his conscience and he has to live with the knowledge that he broke the law he was meant to uphold.

When Mehdi is convicted, Farid sits outside the courthouse and absorbs the severity of his actions.

Elsewhere, Mehdi’s friends continue to rope in young kids, making Farid’s decision slightly less effective.
