In 24 Hours with Gaspar, Bu Tati is the sister-in-law of Wan Ali. Dewi Irawan plays Bu Tati.
While investigating the disappearance of Kirana, an informant of Gaspar gives him the address of the Hartati Dibyo Clinic, where Bu Tati lives.
Bu Tati lets Gaspar know everything he wants about Wan Ali. However, she often forgets what she has shared and what she has not, which becomes a problem for Gaspar, who is seeking information on Kirana.
Fooling Bu Tati
Bu Tati’s younger sister, Maimunah, married Wan Ali. Bu Tati had seen through Wan Ali and knew he wasn’t right for her sister.
However, an adamant Maimunah married Wan Ali anyway. Despite a fallout between them, Maimunah and Wan Ali helped Bu Tati when her husband, Bachtiar S. Abdillah, killed himself and left her a mountain of debt.
Bu Tati was offered a place to live, and she is grateful to them. Bu Tati keeps buying light bulbs in memory of her husband.
Back when he passed away, Bu Tati had gone to buy light bulbs. She returned, but he didn’t. She still buys light bulbs and comes back home, hoping he will be waiting for her at home.
Later in the film, Gaspar reveals to her that her husband didn’t kill himself. Wan Ali killed her husband to steal his fortune and pretended to help Bu Tati. This revelation gives Bu Tati enough reason to join Gaspar in his plan to rob Wan Ali.
Bu Tati’s relationship with her son
Bu Tati has a son named Yadi. One of the reasons she goes out to buy light bulbs is to meet Yadi. He and his wife work at Wan Ali’s jewelry store.
Bu Tati and Yadi don’t share a great relationship. Bu Tati calls him ungrateful and thinks of him as a no-good spoiled child. He doesn’t even care to visit her once in a while.
However, when Gaspar brings Yadi onto the team, he lets Yadi know that his mother loves him and tells him to act like a grown-up.
Bu Tati and Yadi have their differences, but together with Gaspar’s team, they get their hands on Wan Ali’s wealth.
