Regent Balisarius: Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire character explained

In Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire, Balisarius is a tyrannical regent looking for those revolting against the Motherworld. Fra Fee plays Balisarius.

Balisarius is a celebrated soldier of the Motherworld. He relishes the ecstasy of combat and loves commanding his troops.

Balisarius declared himself regent after the assassination of the King and Queen of the Motherworld. To answer the insurgence against the realm, he sent his most brutal commander to hunt and crush those who called themselves rebels.

Balisarius and Kora’s relationship

Kora is the adopted daughter of Balisarius. A young Balisarius had attacked Kora’s world years ago when she was a kid.

While he killed her family and everyone on her planet, he spared Kora, who believes that Balisarius saw something in her.

Balisarius took Kora in. On the Motherworld, Kora received the name Arthelais. Her training and education in the history of the Motherworld began.

Balisarius often used to take Kora on missions of diplomacy. Kora was Balisarius’ child, protégé, and student—the daughter of a decorated commander who lived a life of privilege.

However, as a soldier of the Motherworld, she was expected to do her duty. Kora fought the kings of the distant world under the banner of the people who murdered her family and destroyed her world.

Balisarius and the people of Motherworld trained her, broke her, and rebuilt her in their image. Balisarius even pulled strings to make his daughter the personal bodyguard of Princess Issa.

Balisarius tasks Noble

At the end of Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire, a defeated Noble’s body is recovered by the people of Motherworld.

Through technology, Noble talks to Balisarius in a different realm. Balisarius is disappointed to hear that his daughter is part of the blossoming insurgency.

He tasks Noble to crush this insurgency to the last man and bring his daughter to him alive. Balisarius plans to crucify her in the shadow of the Senate. In case Noble fails, he will be the one executed in Kora’s place.
