Baek Eun-Ho: Marry My Husband character explained

One of the main characters in the fantasy revenge drama, Marry My Husband, Baek Eun-Ho is Kang Ji-Won’s first love with whom her love story ended before it could ever bloom. Lee Gi-Kwang plays the character in the show.

In 2013, Baek Eun-Ho is the head chef at the Werther fine dining restaurant.

Apart from his Michelin-level skills, he’s got the good looks that can easily elevate him to a celebrity chef.

However, he is a camera-shy person who just can’t do well, by his own admission, in front of people.

Despite that, the business is good and so is his reputation.

The heartbreaks of first love

Eun-Ho visited the same school as Kang Ji-Won in Busan. He was a popular guy back then as well.

Meanwhile, Ji-Won was a total outcast.

However, he liked her a lot. He wrote a letter of confession for which he stayed up all night.

Ji-Won’s letter in reply to his confession broke his heart into pieces and he confronted her briefly about it.

All he said when he walked up to her was how could she say all that mean stuff to him, before telling her he never wanted to talk to her again.

Ji-Won was left confused, so she shared her confoundment with Bang Su-Min, who told her that she told Eun-Ho about her feelings for him.

Ji-Won, thinking that he took such great offense at finding out that she likes him, feels a profound heartbreak.

However, both parties were fooled and manipulated by Bang Su-Min.

She could never see anything good happening to Kang Ji-Won.

She copied Ji-Won’s handwriting to forge a reply letter and send it to Baek Eun-Ho.

“Do you think everyone likes you because you’re popular? You make me vomit. Don’t speak to me!” is what she wrote as Ji-Won in the letter.

Misunderstandings and courtship come to an end

Baek Eun-Ho kept that letter with him all these years, even into his adulthood.

When he attends the high school reunion, he uses the chance to clarify all of Ji-Won’s former bullies’ allegations that she took Eun-Ho from Su-Min, whom he used to date before her.

He tells them all that he never dated Su-Min. He then meets Kang Ji-Won and courageously confesses that he had a crush on her.

In another meeting they have a few days later, he brings her a reply letter and Ji-won realizes that Su-Min wrote it.

She tells Eun-Ho that she didn’t write the letter.

Meanwhile, Eun-Ho finds that it’s his second chance to court Ji-Won and do it properly this time around.

They go on several dates, but Ji-Won doesn’t share the same sentiments.

She finally makes it clear to him that she sees him as a great friend and that she will try her best to be a great friend to him as well.

Baek Eun-Ho leaves with a bittersweet taste, finally letting go of his first love.

But he also gets to close a sad chapter of his life with a satisfying closure regarding his first love and heartbreak.
