In Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, when Ahana’s boyfriend breaks up with her, she decides to win him back using social media. Ananya Pandey plays Ahana.
Ahana lives with one of her best friends, Imaad, and has been dating her boyfriend, Rohan, for the past three years.
When Ahana starts thinking about getting married, Rohan tells her that he needs a break from their relationship.
Even when Ahana insists, he is not honest with her regarding his reasons for taking a break. He lies to her that he needs space to focus on his career.
A rough patch
Shortly after Rohan breaks up with Ahana, she starts suspecting that he is dating someone else, a girl named Tanya.
Ahana makes a fake social media account to confirm her suspicions and becomes obsessed with observing the seemingly perfect lives of Rohan and his new girlfriend.
One night, when she gets drunk and messages Rohan about Tanya, he confirms that he has been seeing Tanya and apologizes to her about it.
Despite that, Ahana still believes that Rohan will come back to her and that they will start dating again.
She not only defends him in front of her friends and family but also tries to get his attention on social media by posting pictures that give the impression that she has moved on.
On top of that, an argument between Ahana’s two best friends creates tensions within their friend group.
Ahana had left her job, where she felt she wasn’t given due credit, to start a business with her friends, and their fight puts Ahana in a difficult position.
A positive shift
Ahana continues seeking Rohan’s validation on social media, and her efforts pay off; Rohan begins to flirt with her.
At a mutual friend’s wedding, Ahana runs into Rohan. She sleeps with him, believing that they are getting back together, only to find him gone the next day without a word.
Additionally, Rohan blocks Ahana everywhere, leaving her with no way to contact him. She then finds out that Rohan is still with his girlfriend.
Ahana loses her calm and crashes Rohan’s birthday party to confront him. It turns out that Rohan had no intention of dating Ahana again; he just wanted closure.
Ahana realizes that her self-worth does not depend on Rohan, a man who lied to her, cheated on his new girlfriend, and broke Ahana’s heart twice.
She then reveals to Tanya that Rohan cheated on her. Although Ahana is hurt, she has her friends supporting her. She finally moves on.
She starts a business with her friends and stops trying to make her life look happy and happening on social media, as she no longer seeks self-worth through external validation.
