The trailer for Kabir Khan’s mini-series with Amazon Prime Video India titled The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye is out.
Khan, who’s already made his mark in Bollywood with films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, New York and Ek The Tiger, shared the trailer on Instagram:
Featuring Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari, the war-drama narrates the story of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose-led Indian National Army which fought for India’s Independence.
The trailer shows high-intensity action sequences as the Indian heroes face off against the British Empire.
The series marks Kaushal and Sharvari’s debut in the digital world, with Kaushal last seen in the Bollywood film Gold, while Sharvari has been confirmed as the lead opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi in Bunty Aur Bubly 2.
It’s also Khan’s directorial debut in streaming, having produced Hotstar’s Roar of the Lion, which is based on MS Dhoni.
Prime Video India had a great 2019 with big hitters such as Made in Heaven and The Family Man. The streaming giant will be hoping The Forgotten Army can kickstart their 2020.
The series will be out on January 24, two days before the Indian Republic Day.
