‘Loki’ to return for season 2, post-credits scene confirms

Loki season 2 was officially announced in a post-credits sequence that appeared on the show’s first season, episode 6. Disney+ and Marvel Studios revealed that Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief will indeed return for more adventures in the future.

The show is a Disney+ original television series developed by Michael Waldron, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. 

It takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), in which Loki has accidentally established a new timeline. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and shares continuity with the franchise’s films. 

Marvel Studios has produced show, with Waldron acting as the show’s lead writer and Kate Herron directing the first season.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Sasha Lane, Jack Veal, DeObia Oparei, Richard E. Grant, and Jonathan Majors also feature, with Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki from the film series.

The show initially aired on June 9, 2021, and had a six-episode first season that ended on July 14, 2021.

No official date has been set yet for the premiere of the show’s second season.
