Dog lovers in for a comedic treat with Netflix’s It’s Bruno

The trailer for Netflix’s latest comedy called It’s Bruno has been released. The eight-episode series will premiere on May 17.

The series is about the relationship between a man, Malcolm, played by rapper Solvan ‘Slick’ Naim and his beloved rescue pet dog, Bruno, and the adventures they encounter whilst on a dog walking session or a grocery run around their neighbourhood in Brooklyn, New York.

In the trailer, Malcolm demands respect for his pooch, Bruno gets tricked by a rival dog, a woman falls in love with the dog and their trials and tribulations as they deal with the remnants of other pets on the streets – all making for an endearing and entertaining watch.

The series is created, directed and executively produced by Naim. The award-winning Algerian-American writer, director and rapper from Brooklyn rose to fame with his debut feature titled ‘Full Circle’, which won five festival awards including the Audience Award at the Urbanworld Festival and was later acquired by eOne.

At the age of 22, he became the youngest feature film producer registered with the New York Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting.

The cast also includes Naim’s other two dogs — who happen to be rescue animals — in addition to Marvel Cinematic Universe actor Rob Morgan and GLOW actress Shakira Barrera.

The series will also include a rap album by Naim himself that will also serve as the soundtrack for the series.
