Is Lola from The Crown season 6 part 2 a real person?

In The Crown season 6 part 2, before dating Kate Middleton, William finds himself dating a girl named Lola.

When Harry encourages William to live his life at the university, William decides not to be quiet, uptight, responsible, and boring.

William begins exploring, as he wants to be treated like everyone else, and meets Lola at a party.

About Lola

Lola Airdale-Cavendish-Kincaid comes from a posh family. One of Kate’s friends explains that to date someone like Prince William, one has to be from a royal or noble family with a significant and well-respected background.

Hence, the fact that Lola and William are dating doesn’t surprise many. As expected, Lola also becomes one of the targets of the press, with everyone assuming that she is William’s girlfriend.

Though Lola and William are dating, the latter never forgets about Kate, who is unofficially crowned the fittest girl in the Sallies. He was taken by her from the very first day he saw her.

William’s attempt to talk to Kate gets Lola’s attention, who then and there confronts the two of them.

While trying to explain to Lola and Kate, William is interrupted by a fan who comes asking for his signature.

William is furious and rude to the fan. His behavior results in Kate walking away and Lola breaking up with him for flirting with another girl behind her back.

Who is Lola based on?

Lola Airdale-Cavendish-Kincaid is a fictional character created for The Crown.

The inspiration for the character may have come from the other girls William dated before meeting Kate, most probably Carly Massy-Birch, who dated William for six to eight weeks during Prince’s first term at St. Andrews.

Much like Lola, Carly was also into acting. In an interview back in 2010, Massy-Birch described their relationship as nothing more than a regular university romance.

She expressed that they could have gotten along well if nothing had been going on romantically between them.
