Wilzig: Fallout (2024) character explained

Wilzig is a brilliant scientist who ends up a target for all the factions in the wasteland. Michael Emerson plays the character.

Wilzig was a scientist who worked in the Enclave on various experiments. One of the projects was breeding and raising German shepherds as wasteland companions.

Pups below a certain weight threshold were incinerated but Wilzig kept one and marked as subject CCX40.

He raised the dog as his own in secret while working on another project in the lab. Upon completion, he is caught and threatened by a colleague and the dog kills the threat.

Wilzig produces a tiny capsule and injects it into the back of his head before escaping the compound.

Traversing the unforgiving wasteland

Wilzig and his dog travel across the wasteland to get that capsule to someone else.

Along the way, he runs into Lucy and gives her some advice on how to survive on the surface.

They run into each other once again in the town of Filly where Ma June is supposed to get him a safe escort to her client.

The Ghoul shows up to collect the bounty out in Wilzig’s name and shoots his leg off.

While he’s fighting off Maximus in the power armor, Wilzig convinces Ma June that Lucy can take him to her client, Moldaver.

He puts on an artificial limb and limps away with Lucy after she has the coordinates entered into her Pip-Boy.

They travel quite a distance before Wilzig says that he cannot go on anymore. He decides to take some cyanide and urges Lucy to cut off his head and get it to Moldaver.

He claims that whatever is inside his head will change the world, and he also reveals intimate knowledge of Lucy and the Vaults.

His head is involved in a game of hot potato as it switches hands on multiple occasions before Lucy eventually gets it to Moldaver at the Observatory.

Moldaver tells her that the capsule in his head held the secret of cold fusion, an endless power source that could shape the future of the wasteland.
