In the third season, to make enough money for their Radio City show, Girls5eva agree to be at a fan’s birthday party. That fan is Taffy England, who has arranged a grand 2000s-themed nostalgic party.
Girls5eva are not the only celebrities present there. The party at Taffy’s castle has all the posters she used to have in her room as a teenager hanging up.
The theme of her birthday party is all the posters coming to life. Hence, all the celebrities in these posters are present at the party.
Dawn’s conflict with Taffy
Dawn fails to vibe with Taffy because, unlike Taffy, she doesn’t feel nostalgic about the 2000s. In fact, she is more embarrassed about her work from that decade.
Dawn is told not to talk to Taffy and ruin the party, but Dawn is not able to keep calm when she learns that Taffy has married a man a lot older than her age.
Taffy met her husband, Crandall, a super-rich individual, at Swarovski, where Taffy used to work.
Crandall was looking to buy a gift for his wife, and after learning about his wife, Taffy told him that he could do so much better. That’s how the two hooked up.
Dawn believes that one of their songs from the past may have inspired Taffy, and that’s not right. Dawn attempts to convince Taffy to pursue her dreams.
Dawn’s advice makes Taffy wonder if Dawn is judging her lifestyle, prompting her to take down her Girls5eva’s poster.
Understanding Taffy
Gloria calms Taffy down and makes her happy again by inviting her to join Girls5eva’s performance in Dawn’s place.
Taffy and Dawn cross paths again, and Taffy hears Dawn out. Dawn is not proud of the messages she gave to young girls like Taffy in Girls5eva’s early songs, and she doesn’t want those songs to become a roadmap for the lives of their fans.
Taffy makes Dawn understand that Girls5eva is here because they take her back to the time she had their poster on the wall.
Taffy had a difficult life. When she was young, she found out that her father had a second family. She then lit fires, for which her mother was blamed. In turn, they lost their apartment, and Taffy had to drop out of school and dig graves behind the vet’s office.
Taffy points out that Dawn is back with Girls5eva for the same reason she is having this party: she misses the good old times when life was easy.
After understanding Taffy’s point of view, even Dawn feels like she is missing something and joins Taffy and Girls5eva on stage during the band’s performance.
