Shogo Taguchi: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime character explained

Shogo Taguchi is one of the Otherworlders employed by Falmuth who is sent to Rimuru city to cause some problems. Chiaki Kobayashi and  Matt Shipman voice the character.

When Falmuth plans to wage war against Rimuru, they use underhanded tactics to justify their attack.

Sorcerer Razen sends Shogo Taguchi, Kyōya Tachibana, and Kirara Mizutani to Rimuru City to incite chaos and give Falmuth just cause for attacking.

All three Otherworlders hold so much anger for their circumstances and they are itching to let it out by starting a war.

Biting off more than he can chew

Shogo and his companions pretend to be human tourists who are harassed by some of the monsters but Shuna exposes their facade.

Shogo is looking forward to a fight and takes on Shion as their identities are revealed and the two anti-magic barriers are raised.

Due to Shion’s reduced abilities, Shogo has the upper hand against her until the Falmuth vanguard arrives.

Then Shogo and the others retreat to one of the camps guarding the barrier devices. Rimuru sends Gobta, Rigurd, Hakuro, and Geld to take them on.

Hakuro handily defeats Kyōya while the others take on Shogo and the soldiers. Kirara remains inside a tent, unaware of the battle.

Shogo talks a big game but is no match for Geld and his power. He is beaten down to a pulp before putting some distance and rushing to Kirara.

He kills her to absorb her unique skill and then faces Geld, only to be beaten again. Before he is finished off, Razen shows up to rescue him.

When they get back to the main army camp, Razen kills Shogo’s soul and then possesses his body which is how Razen has maintained such a long lifespan.
