Nemesis: Rebel Moon character explained

Nemesis, a swordswoman among Kora’s rebel allies, lays down her life protecting others. Bae Doona plays Nemesis in Rebel Moon.

On Daggus, Kora and Gunnar meet a swordswoman known as Nemesis. She is an honorable warrior who protects the interests of the vulnerable.

Nemesis is wanted by the Realm because she has carried out the assassination of 16 high-ranking Imperial officials and their security details, driven by her desire to avenge her murdered children.

Nemesis is approached by Kora to join her cause, and she agrees. She then fights Noble’s men alongside Kora as part of her team of rebels.

Nemesis’ reasons for fighting

Nemesis comes to Veldt after the fight with Noble, only to find out that they will be facing Noble’s forces once again in a few days.

During her time on Veldt, Nemesis forms a special bond with a young boy and earns the villagers’ respect for her fierce yet nurturing nature.

She is likened to a life-giving storm—a title that brings tears to her eyes due to losing her children in the past.

Nemesis reveals to the rebels, who are now her comrades, how she, a woman who came from a small fishing village, became an assassin.

Nemesis’ life was forever changed when the Imperium troops attacked her village and slaughtered everyone, including her children.

Driven by grief and anger, she sacrificed her own arms to wield the ancient gauntlets of her warrior ancestors.

Nemesis’ ancestors were not a peaceful people. Long ago, before their village became a small fishing community, her people were warriors.

Nemesis’ desire for revenge led her to don their gauntlets, which still carried the bloodlust of her ancestors; they were awakened by her blood.

The day she armed herself with these gauntlets marked Nemesis’ rebirth, as they taught her, someone who had never killed before, how to fight.

However, contrary to Nemesis’ belief, she is more than a creature of revenge. During the battle on Veldt, she fights to protect the women, children, and elderly.

Despite giving her all, she is eventually overpowered by Noble’s forces, resulting in the loss of one of her gauntlets, but she continues fighting.

When Nemesis is stabbed, the young boy who has grown close to her bravely comes to her rescue. Nemesis’ final struggle is to protect the boy.

After gently praising him, Nemesis loses her life in battle, fighting not only for vengeance but to protect those she holds dear.
