The third and final season of As the Crow Flies sees Lale and Kenan suffering their last rough patch before they must decide to either stick by each other or go their separate ways despite the mutual affection and love.
Lale has been switching from an independent alternative news platform to the mainstream one this season. At Kenan’s insistence, she joins REDW and becomes the anchor of their prime time slot.
She has to contend with Müge, who she finds has become the CEO of this huge company using her connections. After the ‘sex tape rumor’ scandal, she feels she doesn’t have to defend herself in her show and makes that clear to the audience.
The break up
This obviously doesn’t gel well with Müge, as most of the reactions online and elsewhere are also negative. Lale doesn’t care about that at all, but she does care about what this scandal has done to her daughters.
She decided to leave it all after a breakdown. She quits REDW and decides to go away to Nice with her daughters and Selim. She had also been feeling like she was suffocating because of her love.
She says she has always sought her approval in everything she’s done. Without him, she felt she was no one.
The time apart
When she decides to leave, it hurts Kenan and he breaks things up. The two get apart and soon, Lale decides to stay and partners up with Asli at Mon5. Kenan learns that and there’s a bitter rivalry between the two for a while.
She feels betrayed that Kenan stayed at REDW and is now working with Müge of all people. Meanwhile, he feels awful that she didn’t leave the country like she said and stayed, on top of which she has joined their prime rivals.
That is until he confronts her and the two have an honest and heart-rending talk about what they’re doing.
Getting back together
He breaks down and bleeds his heart out, telling her to stay with him and that he’ll leave everything if it allows for him to stay with her.
She tells him the truth about how she has felt for years while being hopelessly in love with him. She tells him she is completely drained and over this lifestyle.
He makes promises as he bawls, of leaving everything to be with her. Lale can’t help but succumb to the expansive love she has in her heart for Kenan.
Lale and Kenan get together again. Lale does the final show of her last season and bids farewell to the role of the anchor.
Before As the Crow Flies season 3 ends, she’s giving talks at universities and looking ahead to staying in Istanbul, and with her already planning their next big endeavor together.
