Lala is an influencer with over a million followers. Her life seems effortless, glittering, and desirable.
Lala promotes hotels that sponsor her trips, and she gets to have free vacations. She even takes Neil, who is her gym trainer, to the Maldives on one such vacation.
Neil is not just Lala’s trainer. She is dating Neil but is unwilling to make their relationship public, as she needs to seem single and attainable to her followers.
Lala and Neil’s relationship
While Neil agrees to keep their relationship a secret, he wants Lala to meet his best friends at least.
Lala is not eager to do so and resorts to lying to Neil to avoid the meeting, which he eventually discovers.
Neil tries to be a supportive boyfriend. Seeing Lala with a man named Kartik makes Neil uneasy.
However, he trusts Lala when she tells him that she is meeting Kartik only because Kartik is launching his own brand and that she is going to be the face of it.
When a man takes Lala’s pictures without her consent, Neil goes as far as to threaten the man, and Neil’s actions win Lala’s heart.
Lala then decides to meet Neil’s friends. She invites them to her birthday party, but as she wants to keep her relationship with Neil a secret, she does not invite anyone else.
The breakup
Lala comes across as shallow to Neil’s friends, and Imaad immediately figures out that she is not as invested in the relationship as Neil.
Neil ignores Imaad’s concerns. However, soon after, when Lala stands him up and Neil has to go to his friend’s wedding all by himself, Neil realizes that Imaad was right.
Instead of accompanying Neil, Lala goes out with Kartik, a man who is much richer than Neil and is also beneficial for her social media image.
Furthermore, she shares pictures of herself kissing Kartik on social media. Neil confronts Lala about cheating on him, only to find out that Lala never considered them a couple.
She claims that she likes Neil, but she was with him only because she used to get bored alone and met his friends only because he kept insisting.
A heartbroken Neil makes a comment about how Kartik has bought Lala, which infuriates her. As a result, she gets Neil fired.
Neil then hacks into Lala’s account. He reveals her real name as well as the fact that the life that she shows to her followers is completely fake.
Due to this, Lala is subjected to severe online bullying. Neil then realizes his mistake and apologizes to her, but the damage has already been done.
