Plot summary:

It has been a whole year since Melisa passed, and Firat’s doctor tells him that he is at risk of getting cirrhosis from all the drinking.

He and Can rely on each other, but Firat has developed a drinking problem. Fatos tells him that he needs to find a partner for his and Can’s sake.

Firat insists that they don’t need someone coming in and complicating their lives even more. He hasn’t told Can that he is his father and he is waiting for the right moment.

Can’s latest project is trying to build a time machine so that he can go back in time and tell Melisa that he loves her in the hopes that she won’t leave.

He is also attending school but gets bullied by some of the other boys there, making him want to drop out.

They are arguing about it when a woman sitting by the side asks them to stop. When Can mentions that time machine, she explains the science behind it and says that time travel is impossible

Can is determined to build his time machine and he sends an email to the school administration and all the parents with his wishes to drop out of school.

Firat argues with Can about this stunt and Firat dismisses the time machine idea as childish.

He goes out and gets drunk that night, and the woman who argued with them earlier takes him back home.

Can is worried about Firat’s drinking problem and he goes back out to find the woman who helped him so that he can thank and apologize to her.

She mentioned earlier that she is sober so Firat approaches her with shot glasses filled with water. He also finds out that her name is Sezen.

They spend time together all night and when they go back to her place, he tells her all about Melisa and how he found out about Can only last year.

She feels bad for dismissing Can’s dreams and she asks to apologize to him. Can doesn’t like her initially and is rude to her like he was to Firat once upon a time.

She tries to win him over using all the tricks she has until she visits him at school and drenches his bullies with a garden hose.

This wins him over and they start spending more time with each other. Can discovers that Sezens brother Kerem is an astrophysicist studying in America.

He asks to meet him and she says that Kerem will be visiting on his holiday soon so they can talk about time travel and wormholes.

Firat tells her that there’s no pressure for Can to meet Kerem because he doesn’t want to get his hopes too high about time travel.

Can has to practice for an end-of-year dance but he doesn’t like dancing when the moves are thought like homework.

He enjoys dancing loose like he used to with his mother. The other boys make fun of him for it, which is why he wants to avoid them at all costs.

He is invited to his classmate’s birthday and Sezen convinces him to go. He even asks for her help getting a gift for the birthday girl.

Can has fun at the party, but one of the bully’s father confronts Firat about threatening his son.

Firat doesn’t take it too well and starts drinking. He ultimately causes a scene and gets beaten up for his troubles while Can walks away embarrassed.

Ending explained:

Facing the harsh truth

They go back home and Can starts destroying his time machine to send a message to Firat. he says that he’s growing up, so Firat should too.

Firat continues to drink away the guilt and pain, and Sezen tries to talk some sense into him.

At this point, he asks her how he should deal with the pain of losing Melisa. He suggests ignoring it completely like Sezen has been doing with Kerem.

Having been called out like that, Sezen is left speechless and she leaves.

The apology tour

Firat goes back to his doctor to get his wounds treated. The doctor is his mother who tells him a story about his father.

She gives him useful advice and tells him to forgive Melisa for springing Can on him so suddenly. He needs to move on for his son’s sake.

Firat goes to find Sezen and tells her about how he saw her and her brother at the bar the night he died.

She blames herself because she got drunk that night, but he comforts her. He also sends an email to the administration and everyone else apologizing for his behavior.

One happy family

Firat organizes a special program for Can and Sezen at his house, and when they arrive he reveals the time tunnel.

He sets up a shed with a projector and seating and once everyone gets comfortable, he starts a slideshow.

It has Can’s childhood pictures and pictures of Melisa as well. He also added videos and pictures of Kerem, so that Sezen could travel back in time too.

Can tells Sezen that Kerem might be gone forever like Melisa, but they will be by her side.

Can asks if he can skip the dance performance the next day but Firat refuses. When they watch the show, they realize that it is as boring as he described.

They switch the music so that everyone can have fun and enjoy themselves.
