Plot summary

Nisso and Pini are childhood best friends who run a bar called Piniones. While Nisso is the responsible one out of the two, Pini often lands them in trouble under the influence.

Pini’s wife, Alma, wants him to change his lifestyle, as suggested by their doctor, because of which they have not been able to conceive. Pini keeps making promises to change, but he never does.

One day, while drunk driving, he gets himself and Nisso into an accident, leading to Nisso getting admitted to the hospital.

Pini makes Alma take the urine test instead of him to avoid getting caught for using drugs. It is then that he discovers Alma is pregnant.

On the same day, Nisso is told that the doctors found a tumor in his body, and he might have the same condition that claimed his father’s life at a young age.

Nisso undergoes a biopsy but does not receive the results immediately. When he visits the doctor to inquire about the results, he meets a sick man.

The stranger tells Nisso that it would have been better if he had not found out about his condition because then he would have been able to enjoy the rest of his days.

This leads Nisso to decide not to find out his own results. He breaks up with his girlfriend, Rotem, to spare her the pain if the worst should happen.

Nisso changes overnight; he becomes increasingly reckless. On the other hand, the news that he is going to be a father soon makes Pini a responsible man.

The two friends discover that their 10-year lease for their bar has expired. The landlord’s daughter has taken over the business, and she wants them to vacate.

She has decided to rent the building to a man named Adir, who has recently opened a dance club on the same street as Piniones.

Nisso and Pini are now going to lose their bar to Adir, as the landlord’s daughter wants to increase the rent by 10% and they cannot afford it.

Pini and Nisso steal her car keys, and while Pini just wants to play a harmless prank on her, Nisso steals and sells her car to an illegal dealer.

Pini is hesitant to deal with the dealer, as the man has a gun and threatens to shoot them both; however, Nisso is unafraid and tries to negotiate with him.

Pini forces Nisso to agree to the price that the dealer is offering and leave the place, but not before Nisso sees where the dealer keeps his cash.

Pini and Nisso need a lot of money to save their bar, so Nisso decides to steal the dealer’s money. He succeeds and proceeds to get drunk.

He then sets the store of their neighbor, who keeps arguing with them and annoys them, on fire when no one is around.

Pini knows Nisso too well, and he suspects him, so when the insurance investigator comes to his house, Pini lies to her, making Alma believe that he burned the store.

Disappointed, Alma leaves Pini to stay at her parents’ house for a while. Pini then realizes that Alma was right about changing his life and talks to Adir about selling the bar.

Meanwhile, Nisso pays the stolen cash to the landlord’s daughter and leaves her no choice but to let him rent their building as well as their neighbor’s store for the next ten years.

Nisso also receives his test results but decides not to open them. He buys tickets to a football game that is going to take place in Poland for himself and Pini.

Pini agrees to go to Poland with Nisso only because he wants to tell Nisso about his intention to sell the bar and turn his life around for his family.

Nisso continues acting recklessly in Poland as well. He steals a bag full of drugs from drug dealers and later takes Pini to a bar full of Nazis.

Sick of Nisso’s reckless behavior, Pini tells him that he has had enough of his plans. They then find themselves pursued by Nazis and are forced to leap from a bridge.

Following that, the two friends get into an argument, as Nisso confronts Pini about trying to strike a deal with Adir without consulting him first.

Rumors about Pini and Nisso’s misadventures spread, and Alma hears about them back home. She assumes the worst when she fails to contact Pini, who has lost his phone.

Pini tries to resolve his differences with Nisso, but Nisso pushes him away. Nisso gets drugged by a girl, who plans to steal his kidney with her partner.

Pini witnesses Nisso leaving with them and comes to the conclusion that something is wrong. He chases after them and saves Nisso from the criminals.

Another accident finds the two friends stuck in the woods. While trying to find their way out of the woods, they come across a concentration camp.

Encountering such a significant historical monument leads them to embrace and reconcile their differences

Ending explained:

Nisso confides in Pini

When they are lost in the woods, Nisso decides to finally tell Pini about the tumor and the possibility of him having the same condition as his father.

They eventually find their way out and have a heart-to-heart conversation about the issue. Nisso admits to his fear of not leaving behind a legacy.

He believes that while his father died young, he left behind a family. The only thing Nisso can leave behind is the bar, which is why he has been so intent on saving it.

He also tells Pini that he did not want to burden him with the news, so he kept it from him all this time. Nisso shows Pini the test results that he has yet to open.

Pini and Nisso both agree that they have had a lot of bad luck recently, so they decide not to check the results until something good happens.

Rotem finds out the truth

Before Pini and Nisso leave to watch the football game, Alma, who is convinced that something has happened to Pini, arrives in Poland.

Once Alma ensures that Pini is fine, Pini reveals Nisso’s secret to her. He also tells her that they have decided to check the results only if their team wins.

Alma finds their logic flawed, and when she gets a moment alone with Rotem, she reveals the real reason behind Nisso’s decision to break up with her.

Rotem confronts Nisso, which leads to their reconciliation, with Nisso admitting that he needs Rotem.

Rotem’s cousin, Yaffit, who likes a man named Nachum but has been ashamed to be with him, also starts dating Nachum after realizing how much he values her.

The biopsy result

Nisso decides not to check the test results because their team has been losing the football game badly. Additionally, he is ready to sell the bar to Adir.

Adir makes them an amazing offer. While Nisso is ready to accept the offer, Pini rejects it. Pini now wants to start an underground club like Nisso wanted.

Nisso is more important to Pini than money, and even Alma supports his decision. Nisso’s friends then assure him that they will all be there for him, no matter what.

Despite his and Pini’s earlier agreement, Nisso decides to check his biopsy result. It turns out that Nisso is not sick; he is not going to die anytime soon.

Although their team loses the game and the other fans leave disappointed, Nisso and his friends still celebrate together.
