‘Friends: The Reunion’ to premiere in India on ZEE5

The special episode of Friends titled, ‘Friends: The Reunion’ will air in India on ZEE5. The episode is set to bring together the cast of the original American sitcom after 17 years.

Filmed at the original Stage 24 at the Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank, California, the special will reunite David Swimmer, Jenifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Courtney Cox, and Matthew Perry with some other special guests.

The reunion is an unscripted episode and will release on HBO Max on May 27, 2021. As HBO Max or HBO Go are not available in India, ZEE5 has acquired the rights to premiere the show.

Talking about the exclusive release of the special, Manish Kalra, the Chief Business Officer of the platform, said in a statement:

“We are extremely excited to bring ‘Friends: The Reunion’ exclusively on ZEE5 for the Indian market. Friends is amongst the world’s most-watched and loved sitcoms and it is a great opportunity for us to present their reunion, something that the world has been talking about, on ZEE5 for Friends fans in India.”

The Friends special episode will be available to watch for the premium subscribers of the platform.

The reunion special is directed and executive produced by Ben Winston and also executive produced by Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, David Crane and all the six lead actors.

The release date of the show on ZEE5 is yet to be announced.
