Tomasso’s arc in Supersex explained

In Supersex, Tomasso Del Signore is the half-brother of Rocco. Adriano Giannini plays Tomasso, while Francesco Pellegrino plays the younger version of the character.

Growing up, Rocco looks up to his half-brother, Tomasso. Even though Tomasso is not a Tano, he looks after his father’s family and loves his stepmother like she is his own mother.

Tomasso is the son of a prostitute. However, among all the brothers in the family, it’s Tomasso who provides for the family the most.

Rocco looks at Tomasso and thinks that his half-brother has everything. Most importantly, he is dating Lucia, their village’s darling.

Rocco looks forward to growing up to be like Tomasso. He calls his half-brother his mentor. Tomasso likes to think that men like them only need two things: to stop being poor and to get the world’s most beautiful women.

A life full of downfalls

Tomasso may have been on the path to success, but over time, his downfall began. His stepmother, Carmela, advises him to stay away from Lucia, but Tomasso is so in love with her that he doesn’t, even though there is a lot of gossip about her.

He isn’t able to handle the news that Lucia is sleeping with someone else, and he pours out his frustrations on his family.

Tomasso marries Lucia against the wishes of his family. Nobody attends the wedding. Tomasso and Lucia move to Paris, and years later, a grown-up Rocco goes to Paris to be with his mentor.

While Rocco doesn’t follow the advice of his brother and carves a path of his own, Tomasso’s life falls apart as he gets involved in criminal activities and sends his wife to sell herself and make money.

Tomasso and Lucia eventually get pregnant with a baby boy. Lucia believes things will change with the birth of their baby.

Tomasso questions whether Lucia’s baby is even his

Tomasso fights and possibly murders to secure the restaurant he worked at for his family. Even though he celebrates the birth of his baby boy and names him after his brother, Claudio, he starts questioning whether Claudio is even his son.

This concern drives him to the point where he holds the baby at the edge of their terrace building. Lucia comes in time to take the baby away from Tomasso, but she ends their relationship from here on.

Tomasso’s death

When Carmela falls sick, Tomasso returns to his hometown after selling his restaurant to start a cafe back home.

Throughout the series, he shares a difficult relationship with Rocco. Sometimes they are together, and sometimes Tomasso despises his brother a lot.

Tomasso even expects his bedridden mother to call him if she wants to meet him one last time, leading Rocco to call Tomasso selfish.

During Carmela’s funeral, Tomasso does get to reunite with his family. He loses his cafe too, after getting into a fight with the locals.

For a while, it is rumored that Tomasso killed himself after jumping into a river, but Tomasso returns to meet Rocco. However, he brings a gun with him.

He intends to use the gun on Lucia and Jean Claude, who are getting married. When the time to use it comes, he fails to muster up the courage.

On a brighter note, Tomasso bonds with his brother again, who leaves him after putting him to sleep. A gunshot suggests that Tomasso shot himself using the gun he has.
