Plot summary

Ndu stopping Zinhle from leaving with Don leads to a confrontation between Zinhle and Don. They both draw guns, with Ndu standing between them, trying to calm the situation.

Don tries to shoot Zinhle but accidentally shoots Ndu instead, resulting in Ndu’s death. Zinhle escapes with the laptop containing Don’s confession.

When the police arrive, Don frames Zinhle for Ndu’s murder, making her a wanted criminal. The police are searching for her, and Zinhle now has nowhere to go.

Zinhle is still determined to make Don and Grace pay. She decides to make Don’s confession public, but first, she visits Ndu’s grave to confess her love for him.

There, she encounters Grace, who, believing that Zinhle murdered her son, kills her, even though Zinhle claims that she is innocent. Grace covers up Zinhle’s murder as a suicide.

Meanwhile, with Phila’s help, Grace convinces the board members that Don is mentally ill and becomes the CEO of Bhengu Beauty.

Don tries to regain his position but fails. The power struggle between Don and Grace escalates, and they end up crossing all boundaries.

The family also faces external threats: Don is shot by unknown assailants, Ruby returns with accusations against Don and Grace, their company is investigated for tax fraud, and more.

Phila is troubled by his parents’ feud and the fact that they care more about power than their children. During this time, Phila meets a woman named Charlie.

Phila falls in love with Charlie, unaware that Charlie is the daughter of Richard Moloto, the owner of Moloto Holdings, who becomes acquainted with Phila and Grace.

Richard, whose wife Debbie was killed by Don and Grace years ago to silence her about Bhengu Beauty’s skin-bleaching practices, seeks revenge.

He and Charlie plan to devalue Bhengu Beauty, push Phila to become CEO, and then take over the company. Richard mentors Phila while Charlie encourages him to be independent.

With their influence, Phila plans a coup against his parents but is exposed by Mutale, an influential board member, leading to him getting fired by his parents.

Charlie also gets Linda to become her business partner. Linda has just gotten engaged to Tanda, but they break up when they find out that Tanda is pregnant with Don’s child.

Charlie then sleeps with Linda behind Phila’s back to manipulate her into poaching talent from Bhengu Beauty. Phila grows suspicious of Richard when he sees him with Grace.

Grace has been spending a lot of time with Richard and begins to develop feelings for him. Meanwhile, her hatred for Don intensifies when she learns that Don, not Zinhle, killed Ndu.

Don is haunted by Ndu’s death and keeps seeing his ghost everywhere, which is how Grace comes to know that he lied about their son’s death.

Due to this, Grace tries to have Don killed, but he survives. He then takes Grace captive in their house and goes as far as drugging her.

He gets the CEO position back through lies and schemes and takes Grace to their old house. He leaves her alone there, not realizing that he has accidentally started a fire.

Grace, who is gagged and tied, cannot call for help and nearly dies. She survives only because her right-hand woman, Noni, brings Richard there in time.

Grace then decides to divorce Don, who brings his ex-wife, Tanda, home after finding out about her pregnancy. Don even promises to give Tanda shares in his company.

In return, he wants her to promise to cut all ties with Linda. Tanda knows that Linda has moved on with Charlie, so she agrees to his terms.

Just when Linda and Phila celebrate their independence from Don and Grace, Phila finds out that Charlie is cheating on him with Linda.

Phila also discovers that Charlie is Richard’s daughter and that they are both plotting to destroy Bhengu Beauty. Before Phila can inform anyone about it, he gets into an accident.

It is Don who saves Phila from the charges of driving under the influence. Don also makes Phila the company’s COO and asks him to return home.

Phila is now on his father’s side, which is why Linda does not believe him when he reveals to her that Charlie is using her for her ulterior motive.

To protect Bhengu Beauty, Phila takes action to harm Charlie’s business before she can cause further damage. Linda also realizes that Phila was right about Charlie and quits working with her.

Ending explained:

The facade of normalcy

After Phila informs Don of Charlie and Richard’s attempts to manipulate the Bhengus, Don asks his detective to look into them.

Don then learns that Richard is Debbie’s husband. He also finds out that they were behind the various attacks on their family and company.

Don reveals the truth to Grace just when she decides to get into a relationship with Richard, who has developed genuine feelings for her.

Feeling betrayed, Grace confesses that she and Don had Debbie murdered, even though they never intended for her to die: they only sent the goons to threaten her.

Grace remains unaware that Richard has recorded her confession. Don then tries to reconcile with her and manages to convince her to return home with him.

Linda also apologizes to Don and is accepted back into the family. However, Linda only apologizes because she wants to be close to Tanda again.

Don is satisfied, believing that everything has gone back to what it used to be, but it is not the same. Don continues seeing Ndu’s ghost, and Grace cannot forget what Don did to her.

Furthermore, Phila and Linda find out about Don and Grace’s involvement in Debbie’s death when they confront Richard and Charlie together.

Mutale now wants Phila to be the CEO, and she helps him plot against Don. Linda also defies Don; she gets back together with Tanda.

Don’s death

Once again, Grace decides to kill Don, but this time, she decides to do it herself. She plans to take her own life after killing Don.

Meanwhile, Phila becomes the CEO of Bhengu Beauty and finds the laptop that his mother took from Zinhle after killing her in his new office.

Phila sees Don’s confession and discovers that his parents experimented on children and then burned them. He then goes to confront his parents about their crimes.

His arrival foils Grace’s plan to kill Don. In the ensuing confrontation, Don admits to killing Ndu and reveals that Grace killed Zinhle.

Phila wants his parents to turn themselves in, but Grace keeps trying to send him away, leading to Phila threatening to go to the police.

Don attempts to stop Phila, who accidentally pushes him off the stairs, resulting in Don’s death. To save Phila, Grace shoots Don and takes the blame for his death.

Phila’s shocking revelations

Grace gets arrested for Don’s murder. Mutale asks Phila, who is shaken after his father’s death and his mother’s arrest, to take this opportunity to end his parents’ legacy.

Now that Don is dead, Tanda and Linda get married. Linda is no longer opposed to Tanda having Don’s child and promises to raise it as her own.

Richard, who is in love with Grace, visits her in prison, still believing that Grace is not to be blamed for Debbie’s death.

Grace ends up telling him the truth about sacrificing herself to save Phila. Richard then deletes Grace’s confession of killing Debbie and promises to get her out of prison.

However, Richard’s plan to have Grace claim that she killed Don in self-defense is ruined by Phila, who decides not to follow in his parents’ footsteps.

He holds a press conference as the new CEO of Bhengu Beauty and reveals all the crimes committed by his parents.

As he does not want to carry the burden of his father’s death, he also reveals that he was the one who accidentally killed his father. The second season ends with Phila’s earth-shattering confession.
