Kill Me If You Dare (2024) summary and ending explained

A prize-winning scratch card comes between Piotr and Natalia in Kill Me If You Dare (2024) as the couple plot against each other. The film is streaming on Netflix.

Plot summary:

Piotr and Natalia almost didn’t make it as a couple, but for Piotr’s persistence when he chased her down to the railway station and proposed to her.

Five years on, their marriage isn’t the wonderful existence that Natalia expected. Piotr is very stingy and doesn’t treat her to fancy things.

This comes from his profession as an insurance agent who always looks at the risks of spending money. His boss, Dagmara, also is his ex-girlfriend from high school.

Natalia works at a marketing agency with her best friend Agata. Their talents aren’t appreciated there as their boss prefers to give the more lucrative projects to the men.

Piotr and Natalia pick up a lottery ticket on their anniversary, and when Piotr scratches it, it contains a prize of one million dollars.

Piotr wants to invest the money responsibly, but Natalia wants to spend it to her heart’s content, including opening a cafe.

He picks up the prize in cash, and they buy a safe from their neighbor Bogdan who has sold safes to the entire neighborhood.

To please his wife, Piotr finally repairs a broken socket in their washroom, but Natalia gets mildly electrocuted when she tries to use it.

When she mentions this to Agata, her friend suggests that Piotr is trying to kill her to keep the money for himself.

Meanwhile, Dagmara sets up a life insurance policy for Natalia as Piotr’s anniversary gift.

She then tells him about a new kind of plan involving hotels and resorts that she would like him to partner with.

Agata warns Natalia to get ahead of things so she grabs a kitchen knife and keeps it under her pillow. It falls over and Piotr begins to have his doubts when he sees it.

His best friend, Lukasz, perpetuates his worries and leans into the idea that she might be trying to kill him to get the money.

Natalia finds the policy on her and it only deepens her suspicions. They both remain on guard as Piotr reveals a weekend getaway to a resort in the mountains.

Agata and Lukasz believe that the other will kill their partner there so they invite themselves for the trip.

Piotr gets a voucher for the all-inclusive package and a hike is planned for the next day. he isn’t too fond of the outdoors but he goes along for Natalia.

Agata and Lukasz run into each other and hit it off immediately, spending the night together.

In the forest, he almost feeds her nightshade berries thinking they are normal ones. He then helps her climb the side of a mountain and gets distracted by Lukasz, almost killing Natalia.

Agata tells Natalia that she must get rid of him during dinner, and asks her about Piotr’s allergies.

When she learns that he is allergic to almonds, she asks Natalia to order something with garlic, and she will get it exchanged with almonds by talking to someone in the kitchen.

Lukasz tells Piotr to get Natalia drunk while he sneaks into their room and pours lotion all over the bathroom floor so that Natalia slips and has a fatal fall.

Natalia sees Piotr and Lukasz plotting in secret and she tells Agata. Piotr doesn’t want to kill Natalia, and she isn’t certain either.

It is Agata and Piotr who are feeding their paranoia. Agata gets the information out of Lukasz about their next plan and shares it with Natalia.

Ending explained:

Love stands strong

Lukasz plans to have Natalia sit in the sauna and then he’ll raise the temperature to the maximum. Piotr goes along with Natalia and asks Lukasz to drop the plan.

Natalia is aware of the plan and makes up a reason to leave midway. She goes back to the room where she meets Agata.

However, she has second thoughts and rushes to the sauna. She is relieved to find it empty since Lukasz dragged Piotr out of there.

Piotr and Natalia meet up at the bar later and apologize for acting crazy. They go for a walk and see a wonderful cabin in the woods.

Overcoming obstacles

The next day, Piotr books the cabin for them to stay, but Natalia sees a message on their phone talking about them being together.

She thinks he is cheating on her with Dagmara and leaves. Piotr realizes the mistake and is checking out when the guide reminds him of their skydiving appointment.

Natalia always wanted to do it, but Piotr suffered from Vertigo and was always afraid. He finally agrees to take the jump and face his fear.

Natalia is waiting at the bus stop when Dagmara arrives. Dagmara explains that Piotr called her and quit his job to spend more time with Natalia.

She is driving back to convince him to reconsider so that they can work on the new project together.

They rush back to the hotel and then the airfield, where Piotr has already gotten on the plane. He makes the jump and reunites with Natalia once again.

Fairweather friends

Agata and Lukasz lament their situation since they won’t get any benefits from the money if Natalia and Piotr are happy together.

They walk up a hill and begin munching on some leaves that they think are sorrel. They start feeling different and talk about getting rid of Piotr and Natalia altogether.

In the evening, they sneak into the cabin and attack Piotr and Natalia because they want the money.

Piotr and Natalia manage to avoid danger as Lukasz and Agata fall off the balcony and end up in the hospital with injuries.

The doctor mentions that they were high on jimsonweed and the two of them apologize to their friends and ask how they can make it up.

Back to the beginning

Natalia and Piotr head back home and the first thing they do is check their safe. They find no money and just a gold-plated pig inside.

They find out Bogdan robbed everyone whom he sold safes and vanished. He’s been wanted by the authorities for over a year.

Without the money, it’s almost like nothing has changed. A couple of months later though, Natalia’s cafe is running well with Agata and Lukasz working there.

She’s pregnant and her marriage to Piotr is going strong. They walk past the hawker who tries to sell them another lottery ticket, but this time they pass up on the trouble.
