Falin’s resurrection in Delicious in Dungeon explained

In Delicious in Dungeon, the search for Falin by Laios’ party finally comes to an end with Falin’s resurrection.

Since Falin was eaten by the Red Dragon, Laios, Marcille, and Chilchuck, joined by Senshi, had been relentlessly searching for the creature.

Eventually, they find the Red Dragon in the castle town, and after much difficulty, they manage to defeat it.

When they cut open the dragon’s stomach, they find no trace of Falin. They conclude that the Red Dragon must have digested Falin sooner than expected, given that it had been moving around.

However, they do find Falin’s hair and bones — the indigestible parts stored by the dragon to fuel its fire breath.

The resurrection and its consequences

Although Falin is dead, Laios is not willing to give up on her. He decides to take her remains to the resurrection office to bring her back to life.

However, Marcille warns him against moving Falin’s remains too much, as excessive damage to the body could weaken the link between her body and soul, making resurrection impossible.

She suggests bringing a revivalist specialist to her remains instead. Additionally, they will need a lot of fresh meat for the process.

While the dragon’s remains provide the necessary meat, it may not remain fresh by the time they find and bring a revivalist specialist.

Marcille then decides to resurrect Falin herself, revealing that her specialty is ancient magic, black magic.

Ancient magic is considered evil, which is why it is forbidden, but given their circumstances, Laios chooses to allow Marcille to use it to revive Falin.

The party assembles Falin’s skeleton, and she is successfully brought back to life in her flesh with Marcille’s magic.

However, there are consequences to Falin’s resurrection through ancient magic that the party has yet to realize.

Falin’s magic is now much stronger; she feels a surge of power within her. When Senshi accidentally causes a blast, Falin’s defensive magic instinctively saves them all.

She does not need to chant to cast the spell; her magic protects the group the moment she thinks about protecting them.

Additionally, when the party decides to rest at an abandoned house, Falin can see a resident of the house, presumably a ghost, when no one else can.

She confides in Marcille that the magic circle used to resurrect her seemed ominous, and something about it did not feel right.

Marcille assures her that the circle will not cause problems if they erase it, but before they can do so, another elf discovers it, which could spell trouble for the party.
