Positives
The show manages to educate children, but not without entertaining them. It educates children on various topics like dinosaurs, comets, and more but in a way that would help them remember this information for a long time.
The show also gives important life lessons to children through these adventures. These lessons that help children learn about making a team, not being selfish, and enjoying the journey, among others, do not seem moralistic, which makes it easy for the audience to accept them.
Furthermore, it not only normalizes but also teaches children about essential concepts like gender, pronouns, the erasure of history, unconventional family structures, and more. It aims to make them more tolerant towards those who are different from them.
While the show’s target audience is children, adults might end up enjoying some of the episodes and appreciate the jokes and the puns. The adult audiences might even end up benefitting from some of the lessons that the show intends to teach.
Negatives
Like most shows that are made for children, the end of the episodes is predictable here as well. As the stories must always end on a positive note, there are not many surprises that the show has in store for the audience.
Verdict
For a show made for children, the fifth season of Ridley Jones is certainly entertaining. It teaches children all the right lessons in the best way possible, and thanks to its puns and jokes, it establishes itself as a unique children’s show.
