In My Hero Academia season 6 episode 20, Midoriya is targeted by one of the more formidable foes who’s sent by All For One to take him alive.
Civilians who’ve taken it upon themselves to defend against the villains attack a mutant girl, who’s just a normal, innocent girl who ran off due to panicking. Deku arrives in the nick of time and saves her, before flying off elsewhere as All Might ensure the safety of the girl and hands his successor a tiffin box.
While Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist deal with minor villains amid outraged civilians hurling insults at them, Deku is contacted by his vestiges. Yoichi asks the second and third wielders to help Deku and after a brief period of hesitation and reluctance to Deku’s idealistic ways, they’re on board.
Deku, meanwhile, is deprived of his communication with All Might and others as a projectile blitzes the communicator out of his grip. It’s Lady Nagant who fired the bullet, and it’s revealed that All For One has tasked her to take Deku alive while taking into consideration that he’ll be supported by other heroes.
Deku dodges another bullet, but Lady Nagant fires another one, which blasts Deku away but he defies the attacks with relative ease, that doesn’t surprise Nagant even though she’s impressed to see someone take this many attacks from her and keep resisting.
Meanwhile, Overhaul is with her and it’s revealed that she gave him a shoulder during the Tartarus escape. His brain is almost broken and all he seems to know right now is to slouch and call for his dad, with a mechanic fervor.
- My Hero Academia season 6 episode 20 does very little except for setting up the fight between Deku and Lady Nagant, which really highlights the problem of pacing and a general lack of content when it comes to the past few episodes.
- Nothing remarkable or notable transpires, and the animation is again really lousy, inspiring little hype, if at all.
- Lady Nagant’s introduction is one to note as she instantly comes across as a gray character with the potential to bring more nuance that adds to Deku’s pure-hearted and idealistic treatment of villains.
