In Doctor Cha episode 12, Seung-Hi meets In-Ho who tries to break things with her while Jung-Min copes with a tragedy.
Recap
Jeong-Suk arrives and breaks up In-Ho and Roy Kim’s fight, before giving them both an earful at the terrace. Seung-Hi meets Jeong-Suk again and asks her to divorce In-Ho.
Meanwhile, In-Ho meets with Seung-Hi and tells her they should break up, which she protests a lot and curses at him repeatedly.
Meanwhile, Yoo Ji-Seon’s stomach pains are diagnosed by Family Diagnostics but they send her to the General Surgery for consultation, where Jung-Min sees her and before the CT results come, allows her to be discharged, tells her that remaining at the hospital would be more favorable, however.
He later finds that her medical condition is far worse than expected, and in the absence of other surgeons, Jung-Min asks Roy Kim to take over her operation. Sadly, she can’t be saved and dies of cancer.
Jung-Min can’t cope with this tragedy and walks off, cutting his communication, while others at the hospital rush to throw the blame at the other department. This leads to Seung-Hi confronting In-Ho loudly in front of others.
Jeong-Suk and In-Ho also attend Yoo Ji-Seon’s funeral where the parents and other relatives unleash their rage on her, shaming them for their kid’s absence and oversight during the medical assessment.
Jeong-Suk again visits the grieving mother later on and offers a shoulder, crying with her. Jeon So-Ra tracks down Jung-Min and later he visits the funeral as well. Later, at her late husband’s memorial service, Jeong-Suk arrives and does all the preparations for the day, while also teaching others so they can do them in her absence.
She later tells In-Ho that she wants a divorce, listening to which seemingly evokes an extreme reaction. In-Ho has a nosebleed and falls to the ground, prompting Jeong-Suk to not believe it at first, only to recognize shortly that something is really wrong, as Doctor Cha episode 12 rolls the credits.
Review
- Doctor Cha season 1 episode 12 finally sees Jeong-Suk put forth the divorce demand. In-Ho’s response reads as a hilarious overreaction to the audience at first too, but it’s probably a consequence of him exerting himself too much during the scuffle with Roy Kim.
- Talking about the scuffle, it was kind of impressive to see In-Ho hold his ground on how much he did, and even if unmatched in the strength of agility, his extremely competitive self contributes to much of the hilarity their fight results in.
- Jung-Min’s breakdown is concerning, but it also raises the question of whether he’ll continue to be a doctor or try any other avenue.
- As things stand now, he doesn’t seem to be headed in any other direction, while his relationship with So-Ra also doesn’t seem to be going the way it once was, even if she shows great growth and promises to support him in his tough times.
