In the tenth episode of Destined with You, Jae-gyeong and Sin-yu both confess their feelings to Hong-jo, who now has to choose between the two of them. The episode is now streaming on Netflix.

When Sin-yu tells Hong-jo that he loves her, Hong-jo reminds him that he has a girlfriend. Sin-yu has made up his mind, and he wants to be with Hong-jo. He tells her that he will come to her and asks her to wait for him. This makes Hong-jo happy.
Sin-yu meets Eun-wol and tells her that he remembers his past life. He thinks that he loved Hong-jo in that life as well. Eun-wol also remembers her past life, like many other people, but Hong-jo does not remember hers. She advises Sin-yu to talk to Hong-jo about their past and live without regrets
The man Na-yeon is having an affair with asks her to break up with Sin-yu, but Na-yeon claims that she likes Sin-yu a lot. She is only having an affair because Sin-yu makes her lonely.
Sin-yu meets her the next day and breaks up with her. He has never told Na-yeon that he loves her, but now he tells her that he loves Hong-jo. Na-yeon is not willing to let Sin-yu break up with her just like that.
At work, she continues acting like Sin-yu is her boyfriend, which upsets Hong-jo. On the other hand, Sin-yu is bothered by Jae-gyeong admitting in front of everyone that he likes someone. Jae-gyeong has also agreed to get CCTV installed outside his house for Hong-jo’s safety.
Wook returns Sin-yu’s father’s showpiece to Sin-yu’s mother, who shares her problems with him. He encourages her to start acting again, as she used to be an actor, but she thinks that it is too late for her.
Na-yeon calls Hong-jo to meet her and tries to hurt her by talking about her relationship with Sin-yu. She tries to convince Hong-jo that Sin-yu is not going to break up with her, but Hong-jo can tell that Na-yeon is anxious about losing Sin-yu.
Na-yeon gets drunk and asks Hong-jo to call Sin-yu and check whether he will come to take Na-yeon home or not. Sin-yu tells Wook about Hong-jo, but when he goes to pick Na-yeon up, he gives the impression that he is still Na-yeon’s boyfriend, which upsets Hong-jo.
At home, Hong-jo accidentally hurts Jae-gyeong with her pepper spray, thinking that he is an intruder. Jae-gyeong then convinces her to go to a couple’s gathering with him, and she agrees.
Sin-yu sees Jae-gyeong taking Hong-jo to work and gets jealous. When he confronts her about it, she confronts him about not breaking up with Na-yeon and giving her mixed signals. They do not get to talk it out because Gi-dong interrupts them.
Meanwhile, Mr. Gong is going on a blind date, but Ms. Ma does not want him to go. She asks him to have dinner with her instead, and they end up sleeping together. Mr. Gong now wants to date her.
The gathering that Jae-gyeong and Hong-jo were supposed to attend gets canceled, so they have a picnic in his car. When she questions him about long-term relationships, he tells her that it is not easy to break up with one’s long-term partner. He asks her to not wait for Sin-yu and to consider this request a confession of his feelings.
Apart from Sin-yu and Jae-gyeong, the garden owner also wants to date Hong-jo. Na-yeon gives the garden owner a pair of Hong-jo’s gloves. He uses the gloves and Sin-yu’s clothes to put a curse on Hong-jo and Sin-yu.
Na-yeon had made Sin-yu promise that he would not tell anyone about their breakup until the renovation project gets completed. As they are both working at City Hall, people gossiping about their breakup will embarrass her.
Sin-yu has been trying to keep his distance from Hong-jo, but he calls her to his office when she does not respond to his messages. When Na-yeon finds out about Sin-yu breaking his promise, she asks her father to transfer Hong-jo.
The mayor tells Jae-gyeong about the transfer, which leads to him blaming Sin-yu. Sin-yu stops Hong-jo from going to the mayor’s office and takes her away without caring about the fact that this will make everyone gossip about them.
He takes her to the beach and tells her why he has been keeping his distance from her. Apart from his promise to Na-yeon, he also did not want people to judge Hong-jo for causing their breakup. He wanted to take things slow for Hong-jo’s sake.
However, he now plans to side with Hong-jo openly, but before that, he wants to know her feelings. Hong-jo tells him that she feels like she has been caring about him for a very long time. Sin-yu remembers his past life, so he knows why she feels that.
Sin-yu kisses Hong-jo, but when she caresses his cheek, he feels the touch of the Red Hand that has not made an appearance in a long time. Sin-yu gets scared and pushes Hong-jo away.
Review
- Sin-yu and Hong-jo come across as an adorable couple at the beginning of the episode. They blush and act like teenagers in love after Sin-yu confesses his love.
- The show tries to establish a link between the protagonists’ love for each other and their past lives, but the show could have done without that. It seems forced, as there was no sign of these preexistent feelings until now.
- Jae-gyeong’s change of heart about dating Hong-jo seems too sudden to be considered genuine. Due to that, his confession does not carry weight and fails to complicate matters.
