‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ gets first official trailer on HBO Max

Three years after the theatrical cut, Warner Bros. has finally revealed the first official trailer for director Zack Snyder’s original version for ‘Justice League’. The film will be a digital exclusive and premiere on HBO Max on March 18.

Zack Snyder had to step down from the original film in 2017 due to some personal issues and Joss Whedon was roped in to finish the project. Several changes were made to Snyder’s original version and the resultant theatrical cut was panned by the audience and critics alike.

This gave way to the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement which saw fans pestering Warner Bros. to allow Snyder to rework and release ‘Justice League’ with his original vision. Thanks to HBO Max, the movement was fruitful and the project was greenlit.

Going by the trailer, it seems to be an entirely different film with additional and changed scenes, enhanced VFX, and inclusion of new characters that weren’t present in the previous version. Snyder had also previously revealed that the film would have a runtime of close to four hours.

The crux of the plot, however, is the same with Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) facing off against Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) while trying to resurrect Superman (Henry Cavill) who died in ‘Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice’.

‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ will also feature Amy Adams, William Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, J.K. Simmons, Joe Manganiello, Ray Porter, Jared Leto, among others.
