The narrative describes the life of a young prince, who is sent to boarding school after he has an argument with his family regarding the rule book that royals have to follow. The story combines royal family life with coming-of-age drama.

Other popular royal family dramas like The Crown and Bridgerton have been a hit on Netflix in the past.

The official synopsis for Young Royals by Netflix reads:

“When Prince Wilhelm (Edvin Ryding) arrives at the prestigious boarding school Hillerska he finally gets an opportunity to explore his true self and find out what kind of life he really wants. Wilhelm starts dreaming of a future filled with freedom and unconditional love far away from the royal obligations—but when he unexpectedly becomes next in line for the throne his dilemma is heightened as he has to make a choice. Love or duty.”

The show stars Edvin Ryding, Pernilla August, Malte Gårdinger and David Lenneman, along with many other talented actors.

The six-episode-long series is originally in Swedish but is available with English subtitles.
