‘Xtreme’ on Netflix depicts brother’s thirst for revenge

Netflix has released the official teaser of its upcoming Spanish action thriller ‘Xtreme’, all set to be available for streaming from June 4, 2021.

Directed by Barcelona-born filmmaker Daniel Benmayor, Xtreme follows the character of a retired hitman Max, who plans his revenge against his own brother Lucero for killing his father and son.

The teaser begins with another character advising Max to “Look for better alternatives” for dealing with the situation. But Max is determined to execute his revenge, replying: “Running away isn’t my style”. The teaser offers us a glimpse of the high-octane action the movie will offer, including a sword fight. 

This thriller is based on a story by Genaro Rodriguez and Teo García, and the script is written by Ivan Ledesma. The movie stars an ensemble cast, including Teo García, Óscar Jaenada, and Óscar Casas.

Talking about his film, Benmayor stated: “’Xtreme’ brings to Barcelona a genre of film rarely exploited in Spanish-speaking films. It will be a relentless action film with a spectacular cast that brings together renowned international actors with new talents and a technical team of the highest level that brings a new style to our cinema.”
