‘Ek Duaa’ features Esha Deol fighting gender discrimination

Bollywood Actress Esha Deol is set to make a comeback with her upcoming film ‘Ek Duaa’. It will be released on Voot Select on July 26.

Directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee and produced by Esha under the banner of her production house, ‘Bharat Esha Films,’ it also marks Esha Deol Takhtani’s entry as a producer.

The film trailer, which came out on Monday, takes us to the world of Abida, a mother who, as per the film’s synopsis, “struggles to amplify the voice and the right to equal love for her daughter Duaa, in a family that shuns the girl child”.

The upcoming movie will also star Barbie Sharma and Rajveer Ankur Singh. Deol was last seen in the short film ‘Cakewalk’ in 2019.

Announcing the news of her film, Deol said:

“Overwhelmed to share with you all that under the banner of Bharat Esha Films (BEF) we are launching our first film as producers- “Ek Duaa.’ When I was approached with ‘Ek Duaa’ as an actress, I felt a deeper connect with the script. I just knew, I had to support the film, the cause, and would want to be associated with it as a producer too. It opened the doors for Bharat & me to start another innings as partners.”
