Starring Vidya Balan in the lead, ‘Sherni’ is set to make a global premiere on Amazon Prime Video in June 2021. The makers of the drama film shared the news by launching the first look on their social media handles.
Directed by Amit Masurkar (Newton), the movie will feature Balan as a fearless forest officer who will try to disentangle the conflicts between man and wildlife. The star cast also includes Sharad Saxena, Mukul Chaddha, Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala, and Neeraj Kabi.
The movie is written by Aastha Tiku and is jointly produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment (Shakuntala Devi).
Talking about the film, producer Vikram Malhotra, CEO of Abundantia Entertainment, said, “Sherni is one of the most special and important stories that we’ve worked on.” He also shared his excitement for “the fans of Vidya Balan to see her in the unique avatar of a forest officer.”
