The first looks for Netflix’s latest science-fiction show, V Wars, are out and the lead star will be everyone’s favourite vampire, Ian Somerhalder. The show will premiere on Netflix on December 5.
The upcoming Netflix drama is based on IDW’s comic book series of the same name by Jonathan Maberry. The show’s first season will include 10 episodes, with the show being directed and produced by Brad Turner of Stargate Atlantis. It will be produced by William Laurin and Glenn Davis.
Netflix’s official synopsis for V Wars reads, “Dr. Luther Swann (Ian Somerhalder) enters a world of untold horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes), into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans.
“As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society fractures into opposing camps pitting normal people against the growing number of these ‘vampires’.
“Swann races against time to understand what’s happening, while Fayne rises to become the powerful underground leader of the vampires.”
The cast of V Wars also includes Laura Vandervoort (Smallville), Jacky Lai (Beyond), Kyle Breitkopf (The Whispers) and Kimberly-Sue Murray (Crimson Peak).
