Úrsula Corberó and Quim Gutiérrez are all set to star in Netflix’s upcoming limited series, ‘El cuerpo en llamas’. The show is inspired by true events and also stars José Manuel Poga, Isak Férriz and Eva Llorach.
‘El cuerpo en llamas’ is based on a crime that occurred in 2017, when a man was found charred to death in the Foix reservoir, in a Barcelona province.
The homicide investigation that followed shed light on a lethal network of deceit, sex and violence among numerous police officers in the city.
The official description states:
“May 2017. The charred remains of police officer Pedro (José Manuel Poga) are found inside a burnt-out car at Barcelona’s Foix reservoir.
“The discovery quickly arouses the public’s interest, especially when the investigation begins to reveal a network of toxic relationships, deceit, violence and sexual scandals involving Pedro and two fellow police officers: his partner Rosa (Úrsula Corberó) and her ex-boyfriend Albert (Quim Gutiérrez).”
Úrsula Corberó has previously appeared in ‘Money Heist’ and ‘The Tree of Blood’ for Netflix.
‘El cuerpo en llamas’ will be directed by Jorge Torregrossa alongside Laura Mañá and written by Laura Sarmiento. The filming begun on September 19 in Barcelona and will continue over several weeks in other municipalities in the province.
