Pakistan’s first native OTT platform ‘UrduFlix’ is nearing launch. The exact date is yet to be revealed.

The first two web series have been announced: Dulhan Aur Aik Raat and Raaz. The latter will also serve as the acting debut of popular Pakistani TikToker Hareem Shah.

The upcoming platform has been created by Emax Media, an internationally acclaimed digital network.

As per the official website, UrduFlix will give viewers “access to original Urdu Series, Films, Web series, Drama Serial and Urdu Dubbed Turkish Dramas”.

Farhan Ghauhar, founder of UrduFlix, said in a statement: “We are excited to announce the launch of Pakistan’s first Urdu OTT platform that will have a recognizable connection to our unique entertainment offerings.

“With the on-demand streaming culture on the rise around the world, we want to play our part in putting Pakistan and Pakistani content on the global market as well, and compete with international players.”

Pakistani shows and web series currently stream on ZEE5, which announced five original web series last year.
