‘Upload’ gets green light for season 2 by Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video’s Robbie Amell starrer Upload has been renewed for a new season just a week after its premiere.

The official description of the web series is as follows:

In 2033, people can be “uploaded” into virtual reality hotels run by 6 tech firms. Cash-strapped Nora lives in Brooklyn and works customer service for the luxurious “Lakeview” digital afterlife. When L.A. party-boy/coder Nathan’s self-driving car crashes, his high-maintenance girlfriend uploads him permanently into Nora’s VR world.

Upload has been created by Greg Daniels who is also the man behind hit TV series like The Office and Parks and Recreation.

Talking about the upcoming season, Daniels stated that he was excited about it and to continue his relationship with Amazon Studios. He also expressed his interest in finding out “what happens next to Nora and Nathan and Ingrid and their 2033 world.”

The cast of Upload also includes Allegra Edwards and Andy Allo in pivotal roles. Amell is known for his roles in The Flash and The Duff.

He has also been working on a spinoff series for the movie Code 8 with his cousin and actor Stephen Amell. The spinoff is reportedly set to premiere on the OTT platform Quibi soon.
