Netflix has announced the premiere of an upcoming sci-fi movie ‘Awake’ starring Gina Rodriguez, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Barry Pepper. The survival drama film is set to release on June 9, 2021.
The trailer begins featuring a strange event that makes all the electronics stop working and takes away people’s ability to sleep. The story follows an ex-soldier, Jill (Rodriguez), who struggles to save her two children from the global chaos.
What would she do when she discovers that the key to curing the world lies with her daughter. Would she sacrifice her daughter’s life to save everyone suffering from disorientation, hallucination and hysteria?
Directed by Mark Raso, ‘Awake’ also stars Finn Jones, Shamier Anderson, Ariana Greenblatt, Frances Fisher, Lucius Hoyos, and Gil Bellows. The sci-fi thriller is produced by Paul Schiff under the banners Paul Schiff Productions and Entertainment One.
