Times Prime partners with ZEE5 to offer complimentary access

With the countrywide lock-down in full swing and the pandemic raging on, OTT and digital platforms are doing their best to entertain people stuck indoors. To follow suit, Times Prime has collaborated with OTT giant ZEE5 to provide new users with six months of complimentary access to their premium content worth ₹599.

Times Prime members will be able to enjoy latest ZEE5 originals like State of Siege: 26/11, Mentalhood and It Happened in Calcutta for no extra cost. The OTT service also has a range of feature films like Commando 3, Hotel Mumbai, among others for the viewers to watch.

The platform also offers over 100 live television channels along with over 1,25,000 hours of viewing across multiple languages.

Manpreet Bumrah, Vice President, Business Development & Commercial, ZEE5 India, said:

We are fully committed to undertake any preventive measures necessary to help the media ecosystem curb this unprecedented situation caused due to the Covid-19 crisis. With our partnership with Times Prime, we want to reach out to all the audiences across the country and help them enjoy responsibly by staying home whilst, catching up on their favourite shows/movies uninterrupted across 12 languages – only on ZEE5.

To this, Vivek Jain, Business Head, Times Prime added:

“The world is currently fighting a battle with the Covid-19 pandemic, with hundreds of millions of Indians having to be confined to their homes to be safe. Social distancing is surely the need of the hour. We want our members to stay home, stay safe and stay entertained. To enable this we are adding many partners that can help Prime patrons workout from home, get access to nutritionists and digital diet passes and most importantly get online consultation from doctors. I am very pleased to share that ZEE5, a leading OTT platform in India, will now be available on Times Prime keeping all our users entertained 24×7 across devices.

The digital medium of entertainment is the only thing helping people to overcome their quarantine blues. According to a recent report, there has been a rise in the viewership across various OTT platforms in India by up to 20%. This rise has been attributed to social-distancing that has been enforced in order to fight this dire situation.
