‘Thursday Night Football’ attracts record Prime subscriptions

Amazon’s new bet, ‘Thursday Night Football’, has attracted a record number of Prime subscriptions for the platform, even higher than Prime Day, Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Jay Marine, VP Prime Video, Global Head of Sports, told his colleagues in a memo: “Our first exclusive TNF broadcast delivered the most watched night of primetime in the U.S. in the history of Prime Video.”

“This is a massive achievement. During our TNF broadcast, we also saw the biggest three hours for U.S. Prime sign ups ever in the history of Amazon – including Prime Day, Cyber Monday, and Black Friday.”

He added that while the official Nielsen ratings are yet to be disclosed, their measurement shows that the audience numbers exceeded all expectations.

TNF will stream exclusively on Prime Video from 2022. It made its debut on September 15 and will include 15 regular season games.
