‘The Witcher’ season 2 concludes production with record COVID measures

Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes video about the completion of ‘The Witcher’ season 2 production. The shooting took place with 89 cast members and 1200 crew members under tight COVID measures which showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich described.

Season 1 of ‘The Witcher’ (2019) was based on short story collections — ‘The Last Wish’ and ‘Sword of Destiny’. The second season, like the first, will consist of eight episodes and will adapt the next book, ‘Blood of Elves’.

Set in the fictional land of ‘the Continent’, the story narrates the adventures of three main characters — Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Princess Cirilla of Cintra — along with the destiny that intertwines their fates.

Showrunner Hissrich said:

“There are plenty of new characters and storylines and of course monsters to explore.”
