‘The Witcher Nightmare of the Wolf’ on Netflix: Origins of Geralt’s mentor Vesemir

The trailer for Netflix’s ‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’ has been released and the movie is set to premiere on platform on August 23, 2021.

The Netflix anime spinoff of ‘The Witcher’ novels is a prequel to the Netflix series starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia.

The series is a collection of 6 fantasy novels and 15 short stories written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, and they have been adapted into movies, web series, action video games, and more.

‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’ tells the origin story of Geralt’s mentor Vesemir — a young hunter, slaying monsters for fun and money. However, when dangerous powers arise on the continent, Vesemir realises the importance of being a monster hunter and learns that these jobs are about much more than coin.

Furthermore, season 2 of the live action series, slated to be out in December 2021, will include the character of Vesemir which is set to be played by Kim Bodnia of Killing Eve. ‘Nightmare of the Wolf’ has been directed by Kwang-ll Han and produced by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.
