The Silent Sea is an adaptation of the 2014 short film ‘The Sea of Tranquility’, written and directed by Choi Hang-yong.

The earth is going through a water shortage, where the water available would go down by 40% in the next ten years. A team led by Gong Yoo is sent on a mission to the moon in order to get a sample (which is important to avert the crisis) from an abandoned lunar base called Balhae Station.
However, their ship crashes and they have to wait for a while before a rescue ship can arrive. While investigating the Balhae Station, they come across some dark and disturbing secrets and end up fighting for their survival.
