The Russo Brothers’ upcoming Netflix film ‘The Electric State’ begins filming

The Russo Brothers have announced the beginning of principal photography for their upcoming Netflix film titled, ‘The Electric State‘. It is based on the eponymous 2017 novel by Simon Stålenhag.

The film will feature a star studded ensemble including Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Michelle Yeoh, Stanley Tucci, Jason Alexander, Brian Cox, and Jenny Slate among others.

‘The Electric State’ focuses on a young orphan girl in a retro-futuristic America in 1997, searching for her brother. Her journey takes her across the country with her beloved robot and an enigmatic drifter.

It is being directed by the Russos, and the screenplay has been written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It will be produced by AGBO, a label helmed by the brothers as well.

The studio has previously collaborated with Netflix on films like  ‘Extraction’ and ‘The Gray Man’. Furthermore, along with ‘The Electric State’, AGBO is also working on ‘Extraction 2’ for the streamer.
