The Report: Amazon Prime Video’s gripping drama on 9/11

Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer for The Report, a new original, based on actual incidents. Idealistic Senate staffer Daniel J. Jones, tasked by his boss to lead an investigation into the CIA’s post 9/11 Detention and Interrogation Program, uncovers shocking secrets.

The film is about an investigation on the CIA’s Interrogation techniques used on terrorists suspected to be responsible for the horrifying attacks of 9/11.

Jones'( played by Adam Driver) persistent search of the facts leads to reports that expose the degree to which the nation’s top intelligence organization went to obstruct the investigation, subvert the rules, and conceal from the American people a disturbing secret.

Written and directed by filmmaker Scott Z. Burns, The Report chronicles Jones’ actual investigation into the Bush-era CIA on behest of the Senate Intelligence Committee, as well as the ensuing battle between the Senate and the Obama administration to reveal what Jones had uncovered.

It is believed that the way CIA was interrogating detainees made them a subject to psychological and behavioral issues, including hallucinations, paranoia, insomnia, and attempts at self-harm.

The movie also stars Annette Bening, and Jon Hamm. It is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
