The Protector: Netflix unveils season 4 of Turkish drama

Netflix has released a trailer for the fourth season of their Turkish drama, The Protector.

The series premiered in December 2018 with the following logline:

Given mystical powers by a talismanic keepsake, a young man embarks on a quest to fight shadowy forces and solve a mystery from his past.

This story centers around an Istanbul shopkeeper, Hakan Demir, who finds out that he’s destined to serve an ancient secret order. To save the city from the dark, Hakan must embrace his family’s legacy as The Protector. He becomes a hero with the duty to kill the Immortal and prevent the destruction of the city.

The third season of the show was released earlier this year in March and now Netflix is back with a new season.

The new season description reads:

Time has come to choose a side. Hakan is young, and in love, forced to make a hard choice between his duty and his love. Regardless of his training, Hakan follows his heart. So the tale tracks his battle against this hidden enemy, and how he seeks to prevail over him. This season is all about who is going to remain standing when the dust settles.

The show stars Çağatay Ulusoy and Hazar Ergüçlü in the lead and the fourth season is set to release on July 9, 2020

The Protector, which is Netflix’s first Turkish series, has been created by Binnur Karaevli who is a Turkish writer, producer, and director.
